U.S. Copyright Office Extends Deadline for New Exemption Petitions in Section 1201 Rulemaking

The U.S. Copyright Office is extending the deadline to submit petitions for new exemptions in the ninth triennial rulemaking proceeding under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), section 1201 of Title 17 of the United States Code. Petitions for new exemptions are now due by 11:59 p.m. eastern time on August 25, 2023. All other deadlines are unchanged.
