Copyright Office Announces Webinar Update on the Copyright Public Record System

Issue No. 951 - March 18, 2022

The U.S. Copyright Office will host its next public modernization webinar on April 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. eastern time.

As part of its modernization efforts, the Office released the Copyright Public Records System (CPRS) pilot, which will provide access to the same registration and recordation data that exists in the Copyright Public Catalog but with enhanced search capabilities and an improved interface. Since its release in December 2020, the Office has improved the CPRS’s search capabilities and added the ability to download, email, and share records. This webinar will describe the developments since the launch and where it is headed in the near future. Panelists will also reiterate how the public can provide valuable feedback.

Participants must register for this Copyright Office webinar. The Copyright Office launched its modernization webinar series on January 31, 2019. The Office will continue to hold webinars every other month during modernization to keep the public informed about and involved in the modernization process. Future webinar dates and topics will be announced through NewsNet.
