Copyright Office Extends Comment Period for State Sovereign Immunity Study

On June 3, 2020, the U.S. Copyright Office issued a notice of inquiry commencing a policy study on state sovereign immunity from copyright infringement suits. Initial comments in response to the notice were due on September 2, 2020. To ensure that members of the public have sufficient time to submit reply comments and empirical research studies, the Office is extending the deadline for the submission of additional comments to no later than 11:59 p.m. eastern time on October 22, 2020.
