U.S. Copyright Office Announces Technology Director

The Register of Copyrights announced today the appointment of Ricardo Farraj-Feijoo to the position of Director of the Copyright Technology Office. Farraj-Feijoo will serve on the Register’s senior management team and report to the Copyright Office Chief Information Officer. Among other duties, he will provide leadership on the development and implementation of technology initiatives and supervise the day-to-day maintenance of the Office’s registration and recordation systems, coordinating with the IT department of the Library of Congress.
“Ricardo’s experience managing high-profile and technically complex projects makes him superbly qualified for this position,” said Register of Copyrights Maria A. Pallante. “We are already learning from him.”
Mr. Farraj-Feijoo possesses over 20 years of professional technical experience, ranging from integrating large and complex enterprise solutions to managing day-to-day IT operations. Most recently, he served as Director of Information Technology Services within the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce. His assignments at Commerce included implementation of cloud-based solutions as well as design and implementation of virtualized server farms. He previously worked in the information technology department of the Library of Congress and for the Congressional Research Service. He is a veteran of the U.S. army.
