Copyright Office and Library Of Congress Issue Notice of Public Roundtable
with Request for Comments
The Section 108 Study Group announces a public roundtable discussion on
certain issues relating to the exceptions and limitations applicable to
libraries and archives under the Copyright Act, and seeks written comments
on these issues. The January 31, 2007, public roundtable discussion in Chicago,
Illinois, will focus on the issues identified in this notice. These issues
relate primarily to making and distributing copies pursuant to requests
by individual users, as well as to provisions of user access to unlicensed
digital works. Requests to participate from all interested parties on the
issues described in this notice are due by January 12, 2007. Written comments
will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. EST February 1, 2007, through 5:00 p.m.
