Public Information Office Extends Business Hours

Starting on November 3, 2015, the Public Information Office of the Copyright Office will extend its hours on a pilot basis. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, staff will accept inquiries by telephone from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., eastern time. The hours for in-person visits to the Office will remain the same - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., eastern time, Monday through Friday - and the Office will continue to respond to emails within five (5) business days. The Office is conducting the pilot to assess the effect of extended hours on stakeholders outside the eastern time zone. The pilot will conclude on December 31, after which the Office will determine whether to adjust its business hours on a longer-term basis. The Office will remain closed as usual on federal holidays during the pilot.
