U.S. Copyright Office Announces New Division: The Copyright Modernization Office
Issue No. 711 - March 30, 2018
The latest step in the U.S. Copyright Office’s overall IT modernization strategy to improve services and to develop more robust systems was standing up the Copyright Modernization Office (CMO).
The CMO officially opened on January 22, 2018. The Copyright Office recognizes that modernization is essential to translating its infrastructure into “a lean, nimble, results-driven” organization with the tools necessary to serve the copyright community, government entities, and the general public. CMO currently is collaborating with other Office divisions on various projects, including the Virtual Card Catalog proof of concept.
Over the coming months, look for streamlined processes and improved services throughout the Copyright Office. Read here for more information about the CMO.
