Interim Rule Governs Correction of Errors in Certificates of Registration
of Vessel Hull Designs
The Copyright Office is publishing an interim rule governing the correction
of errors in certificates of registration of vessel hull designs. Under
the new rule, an owner of a vessel hull design may request a corrected certificate
of registration to correct a clerical or typographical error in a certificate
of registration that is a result of error in the application by submitting
an application for correction of the certificate of registration, new Form
DC, and the applicable fee.
The Office will also issue a corrected certificate
of registration to correct a clerical or typographical error made
by the Office. Submission of a Form DC and a filing fee is not required
to correct these errors.
This rule is effective August 14, 2006.
