Dates Announced for Los Angeles Hearings in Section 1201

The Copyright Office of the Library of Congress has announced the dates and locations of its public hearings in California in its rulemaking on the possible exemptions to the prohibition against circumvention of technological measures that control access to copyrighted works. The hearings will take place at the UCLA Law School in Los Angeles, Calif., on Wednesday, May 14, and Thursday, May 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These hearings are in addition to the previously announced hearings that will be conducted in Washington, D.C., on April 11, April 15, April 30, and May 2.

Requests to testify at the Los Angeles hearings must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on April 8, 2003. For further information on the hearings and on the requirements for the requests to testify, see the Copyright Office website.
