Copyright Office Publishes Proposed Rulemaking on Who May File a Cable or Satellite Claim (66 FR 20958)

The Copyright Office is proposing to clarify the requirements for the submission of claims for royalties under the cable statutory license, 17 U.S.C. 111, and the satellite statutory license, 17 U.S.C. 119. Comments are due no later than May 21, 2001.

• May 10: Deadline for receipt of requests to participate in May 15 roundtable on intellectual property aspects of a draft Convention on Jurisdiction and Foreign Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters (66 FR 20482)

• May 14: Effective date of procedures for proper service on the Register of Copyrights in cases where a registration applicant whose application for registration has been refused institutes an infringement action (66 FR 19094)

• May 15: Roundtable on intellectual property aspects of the preliminary draft Convention on Jurisdiction and Foreign Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters (66 FR 20482)

• May 21: Due date for comments on the requirements for the submission of claims for royalties under the cable statutory license, 17 U.S.C. 111, and the satellite statutory license, 17 U.S.C. 119. (66 FR 20958)

• May 23: Due date for reply comments on interpretation and application of the mechanical and digital phonorecord compulsory license to certain digital music services (66 FR 14099)
