The newly updated Circular 92--Copyright Law of the United States of America and Related Laws Contained in Title 17 of the United States Code--is now available and may be ordered from the Government Printing Office. This volume incorporates all amendments to title 17 enacted through the end of the first session of the 106th Congress in 1999. It includes the Copyright Act of 1976 and all subsequent amendments to the copyright law; the Semiconductor Chip Protection Act of 1984, as amended; and the Vessel Hull Design Protection Act, as amended. The U.S. copyright law is contained in chapters 1 through 8 and 10 through 12. Chapters 9 (the Semiconductor Chip Protection Act of 1984) and 13 (the Vessel Hull Design Protection Act) contain statutory protection that is independent of copyright protection.
